HOW CAN I TELL IF I HAVE RETURNED AN EBOOK PROPERLY?

IS THERE A WAY THAT I CAN QUICKLY TELL FROM THIS SITE IF I HAVE ANY EBOOKS CHECKED OUT?

Answer

Hi! Thanks for your question. You *can* log into your account on the library website, and check what books you have checked out. We have access to two different accounts for OverDrive; you can find both linked here: http://home.oceancitylibrary.org/content.php?pid=75069&sid=3734552. If you click on either the Ocean City Library Digital Download button, or the South Jersey Audio and eBook Download Center button, you'll be able to log in with your library barcode, and see what books you still have checked out. Books are automatically returned when the 7 or 14 day lend period expires; you're never charged a late fee for them.

Because OverDrive offers a few different ways to download books, it's a little confusing to return them. Your best bet would be to give the Computer Center a call at 399-2434, x 5224, so that you can discuss what kind of reader you're using, and on what platform (for instance, the Kindle reader on an iPad). You're also welcome to come in to the Computer Center with your reader, and have one of our IT staff walk you through a book return.

I hope this helps; please let us know if there's anything else we can do.
